What happens in a newborn session?

All my newborn sessions take place during Monday-Friday at 10am. You should allow 2-3 hours for your session.

When you arrive, we will feed your baby. If baby is breast fed you will feed your baby until they are nice and full, if bottle fed, I will feed your baby so they can get used to me.

Once baby is nice and full I will begin posing them on my posing table, the first position is great for winding them, and getting them used to how I move them throughout the session. It’s also great for me to see what your baby likes and dislikes. Once table posing has finished, I dress and wrap your baby to move to props.

Props is usually much quicker than table posing as your baby stays half wrapped and there is less “fussing” with your little one. I am to use 3-4 props, and this is where younger siblings will be involved.

Parent and older siblings are done last, as this is usually (but not always) babies awake time, so they can be held so it’s no problem for them to be awake for this part.

Before your session I will send you a prep guide, and a form to fill in letting me know your colour preference for the session. Each session is tailored to you. You can let me know before hand if you love any of my props, however certain items are picked based on babies weight so may or may not be suitable.

You’re also welcome to bring any special items along with you to your session and I will do my best to incorporate these where I can.
